5k Route

The 2025 Canton Juneteenth 5K Run/Walk will be on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 7:00 a.m. Runners and walkers will take to the streets.  Packets can be picked up Friday, June 20th at the Block Party on Canton Square from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. or Saturday, June 21st from 6:30 a.m. - 7:15 a.m. on Canal Street, Canton, MS.

 

Runners and walkers will begin and end at the site of the future H.O.P. E Center on Canal Street. They will wind their way through famous Canton areas taking them by Mt. Zion Baptist Church, the Freedom House, where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other civil rights activists gathered; McNeal Elementary School, the Canton Square; and the location where “My Dog Skip” was filmed. The last leg of the run will bring participants back to the H.O.P.E Center.

 

Route: 

• Race begins at the Hope Center Property on Canal Street

• Head north to North West Street and turn left onto North West Street,

• Head west on North Street to Boyd Street and turn right.

• Head north on Boyd Street and turn right onto George Washington Ave (Lutz)

• Go east to MLK Jr. Drive and turn right(south) and go by McNeal Elementary

• Turn left onto North Street and go east towards North Hickory Street and turn right (south)

• Take the first left onto W. Center Street and head east.

• Stay on Center Street go past Sacred Heart Catholic Church to right (south) onto North Lyon Street

• Cross over Peace Street, staying on Lyon Street to Fulton Street.

• Turn right (west) onto Fulton Street go across Liberty Street.

• Go to South Hickory Street and turn right (north) onto Hickory.

• On Hickory cross Peace Street onto North Hickory go towards W North Street.

• Turn left onto W North Street and head west to N Canal Street and turn right onto N Canal back to the point of beginning.
